2027 FQA Junior & Youth Players

Virginia United is running a process this off-season to identify players who may be ready to step into the Football Queensland Academy pathway for 2027.
This Expression of Interest is open to the public. Submitting this form does not guarantee a trial or selection: only players shortlisted by our coaching staff will be contacted, and trials are by invite only. If you are not contacted, it does not mean you have been ruled out, our staff continue to assess talent throughout the season.
This page is open to Boys and Girls, Junior and Youth, across all FQA-eligible age groups. Register your interest below before registrations close on 31 December.
FQA training typically runs two nights a week plus regular carnivals and representative events, alongside your normal club team rather than instead of it. Selection reflects Football Queensland's own long-term talent identification process rather than a single decision, and every player who puts their hand up remains on our radar for future opportunities.

We're opening expressions of interest for coaches to join us for the 2027 season, specifically within our FQ Academy Junior Boys program and our newly renamed Pre-Academy program (previously our ASP program).
We're looking for:
FQA Junior Boys - U10s, U11s, U12s
Pre-Academy Boys and Girls - U8 to U12s (formerly our Academy Specialised Program, ASP)

REDS ELITE - 1-on-1 Coaching with Ellis Shaw

Book a private 1-on-1 coaching session with Ellis Shaw, Lead Coach of Reds Elite Training at Virginia United FC.
Reds Elite is geared towards our Pre-Academy and community players, with a focus on the individual skill that is often missed in a team session, to support progress toward the Academy and beyond.
Sessions run for 50 minutes and are designed around you. Ellis will work on the areas of your game that matter most, whether that is technical skills, decision making, movement, or game understanding.
Ellis is FFA-accredited and brings elite playing and coaching experience to every session. This is individual attention you simply cannot get in a group environment.
Once you register and pay, you will receive a link to book your session time directly with Ellis at a time that suits you.

Little Reds & MiniRoos Ready - T4

Start Date: Saturday 17 October 2026 (8 weeks, finishing 5 December 2026)

Term 4 marks an exciting new chapter for our early years program. We are officially launching Little Reds as our home for football aged 3 to 5, and bringing back MiniRoos Ready for players ready to take the next step into the 2027 season. Please select your program below at registration.
Little Reds (U3, U4, U5)
Little Reds is Virginia United's introductory football program for our youngest players. Built around age-appropriate development and the joy of play, every session gives children the space to explore, move, and build confidence at their own pace. Our coaches work to age-specific frameworks, so whether your child is picking up a ball for the first time or already a Squirts regular, they will be challenged and supported in the right way.
Explorers (U3) - Ball familiarity, body awareness, and the joy of movement. Every session is play-first, with activities designed to build coordination and confidence without any pressure.
Movers (U4) - Developing deliberate ball control, early decision-making, and the beginnings of teamwork. Players at this level grow fast, and our sessions keep pace with them.
Little Reds (U5) - Increasing game sense, stronger technical foundations, and small-sided play. This group bridges directly into MiniRoos Ready when players are ready.
MiniRoos Ready (U5, U6, U7)
MiniRoos Ready is for players who are ready to step into competitive 5-a-side football in 2027. Whether your child is a Little Reds graduate, an existing U6 or U7 player looking for extra development, or coming to VUFC for the first time - this program is built to get them ready.
2027 MiniRoos season registrations open in October. MiniRoos Ready runs Term 4 and Term 1 only, specifically timed to build players up heading into the season. Players who complete the program will know their teammates, understand the format, and step into Round 1 with confidence.
Key focus areas: ball mastery under pressure, small-sided game understanding, basic defending, accurate striking, and playing as part of a team.

REDS ELITE - Goalkeeper Clinics Term 4

Reds Elite Goalkeeper Clinic is built for our Pre-Academy and community goalkeepers who want the individual coaching that is hard to get in a team session, to support their progress toward the Academy and beyond.
Six weeks of Monday sessions from 2 November to 7 December at Albert Bishop Park, Nundah. Small groups keep every keeper involved with plenty of touches.
Under 9 to 12 group: 5:00pm to 6:00pm
Under 13 and above group: 6:15pm to 7:15pm
Sessions build handling, footwork, positioning, shot stopping, distribution and decision making through game based activities that suit each age group.
Fees: $150 for the full six week term ($30 per session).

REDS ELITE - Position Clinics - T4

Reds Elite Position Clinics are built for our Pre-Academy and community players who want the individual, position specific coaching that is hard to get in a team session, to support their progress toward the Academy and beyond.
Six weeks of Wednesday sessions from 4 November to 9 December at Albert Bishop Park, Nundah. Each position runs for two weeks:
Strikers: 4 and 11 November. Movement off the ball, finishing, timing of runs, receiving under pressure and the decisions that put goals on the scoreboard.
Midfielders: 18 and 25 November. Scanning, receiving on the half turn, passing angles, switching play and controlling tempo.
Defenders: 2 and 9 December. Body shape, 1v1 defending, covering, anticipation and winning the ball back.
Junior group (Under 9 to Under 12): 5:00pm to 6:00pm
Youth group (Under 13 and above): 6:15pm to 7:15pm
Fees: $30 per session. Book one session or all six. Choose your age group and the sessions you want when you register.

REDS Elite X Little Reds

Little Reds x Reds Elite is a Thursday program for 6 to 9 year olds, bringing the fun of Little Reds together with the focused coaching of Reds Elite. It is built for our Pre-Academy and community players who want more time on the ball and the individual skill work that is often missed in a team session, to support their progress toward the Academy and beyond.
Six weeks of Thursday sessions from 5 November to 10 December at Albert Bishop Park, Nundah. Choose the session that suits your family:
Session 1: 5:00pm to 6:00pm
Session 2: 6:15pm to 7:15pm
Each session is capped at 12 players.
Small groups keep every player involved. Sessions are game based and build confidence on the ball, movement, and a real love of the game, and prepare players for the step into MiniRoos football.
Fees: $150 for the full six week term ($30 per session).
Places are limited. Register early to secure a spot.
