Welcome to Virginia United FC!
We're opening expressions of interest for coaches to join us for the 2027 season, specifically within our FQ Academy Junior Boys program and our newly renamed Pre-Academy program (previously our ASP program).
We're looking for:
FQA Junior Boys - U10s, U11s, U12s
Pre-Academy Boys and Girls - U8 to U12s (formerly our Academy Specialised Program, ASP)

Constraints-Led Approach: every session we run is built around designing the game to create the learning, not stopping to give instructions. Our coaches are trained and mentored in this approach from day one, and it runs consistently from Squirts through to our senior programs.
Coach mentoring: coaches in our high performance programs are mentored by senior coaching staff, including coaches with international coaching experience, as part of an ongoing weekly coach development process, not a one-off induction.

September School Holidays 2026

Our September Holiday Camp returns to Albert Bishop Park for two weeks of football, fun, and full-day activity. With Part 2 of the season just around the corner, it's the ideal time for players to stay sharp, build confidence, and enjoy their football in a relaxed, supportive environment.
All abilities welcome. No experience necessary. Open to members and non-members alike, ages 5 to 13.
WHEN
Week 1 - Tuesday 22nd September to Friday 25th September
Flexible registration - book one day, one week, or both.
Full Day: 9:00am - 3:00pm
Half Day: 9:00am - 12:00pm

WHAT EACH DAY LOOKS LIKE
Each session follows a structured format designed to keep players challenged and entertained from start to finish:
Themed morning football training session
Small-sided games and live challenges
Sport of the day (rotates each session)
Individual and team competitions
All sessions are designed and delivered by our qualified, experienced coaches.
WHAT TO BRING
Hat (required), labelled water bottle, and a packed lunch for full-day participants. A meal option is available at an additional cost - select this during registration.
Please include any allergies or dietary requirements in your registration.
PLAYER SAFETY AND CARE
Your child is in safe hands throughout the day. Our staff manage regular water breaks, scheduled sunscreen reapplication, and shaded rest areas during warm periods. First-aid qualified staff are on site at all times, and all activities are age-appropriate and ability-matched.

Select your preferred days and session type during registration - full day or half day. The process is quick and takes just a few minutes.

5-A-Side Competition 2026

Reds 5-a-Side is back at Albert Bishop Park for 2026, with competitions for both Seniors (Masters) and Juniors, open to Members and Non-Members.
SENIORS (MASTERS):
- O30+ Men and O30+ Women, open ability level, all standards welcome
- Must be 18 or above to join this competition
- 9-week tournament, Monday night games, music on, bar open
- Running from 12 October to 7th December 2026
- First 7 weeks is a regular league format, Week 8 & Week 9 is a finals series
- Winning teams will receive a trophy!
JUNIORS:
- Open to all ages up to U18 (U6, U7, U8, U9, U10, U11, U12, U13, U14, U15, U16, U17, U18)
- We are running two leagues this year, a Social League (relaxed, mixed ability, all about fun and participation) and a Performance League (a higher intensity competition for teams wanting a more competitive standard)
- You will nominate which league you want to be considered for when you register your interest. We may move a team between leagues if that gives everyone a fairer, more competitive week to week experience
- 9-week tournament, Friday night games, music on, bar open
- Running from 16 October to 20 November 2026
- First 7 weeks is a regular league format, Week 8 & Week 9 is a finals series
- Winning teams will receive a trophy!
TEAM FEES:
Registration is $100 per player, and every player registers and pays individually. If your squad has 6 or more players, your total team fee is discounted so it balances out to around $600 regardless of squad size, the more players you have, the lower the per-player rate. Once your squad is finalised, email us at admin@virginiaunitedfc.com.au with your team name and confirmed player count and we will send you the discount code to apply at registration.
KIT:

HOW IT WORKS:
Step 1: If you have not already, submit your Expression of Interest. This is what lets us build your team in Majestri, so registration stays fast and simple for everyone on your squad. If you already have a full squad, submit it now to guarantee your team is ready to go. If you do not have a team yet, submit your Expression of Interest as a solo player, this form is also how we capture solo players and match you with others to form a team.

Step 2: We use every Expression of Interest, team and solo, to build teams in Majestri.
Step 3: Registration is open now. Each player, or a parent/guardian for Juniors, receives their own registration link and registers and pays individually.
Step 4: Missed the Expression of Interest and need a team set up? Email us at admin@virginiaunitedfc.com.au and we will create it for you.
Step 5: Complete your registration to lock in your place. Seniors kick off Monday 12 October 2026, Juniors kick off Friday 16 October 2026.
This competition is run by Virginia United FC outside Football Queensland sanctioned competition, so it is not covered by FQ insurance. We recommend all participants arrange their own personal accident and injury insurance if they would like cover before taking part.
IMPORTANT INFO (JUNIORS):
As the weeks go by, our team will monitor results and assist with managing divisions where needed to ensure games are competitive. Whilst there is no official league ladder, we track scores to lead towards a finals week where we've aligned teams based on the results for the ultimate finish to the 5-a-side season!
GAME TIMES (JUNIORS):
Games are 20 minute halves with a 5 minute half time. Age groups run one after another across the night, youngest to oldest, so families only need to be at the fields for their own age group's window. Rough start times below, to be confirmed closer to Round 1:
- U6/U7: 4:45pm
- U8/U9: 5:35pm
- U10/U11: 6:25pm
- U12/U13, U14/U15 and U16/U18: 7:15pm

Key rules for the competition are below.
- Matches are 5-a-side, 20 minute halves with a 5 minute half time
- Squads must have a minimum of 6 registered players, with no more than 5 players on the field at any time
- All forfeits are counted as a 3-0 win for the opposing team
- No offside, no slide tackles, all free kicks are direct
- Standard yellow and red card system applies, in line with Football Queensland disciplinary regulations

Term 4 marks an exciting new chapter for our early years program. We are officially launching Little Reds as our home for football aged 3 to 5, and bringing back MiniRoos Ready for players ready to take the next step into the 2027 season. Please select your program below at registration.
Little Reds (U3, U4, U5)
Little Reds is Virginia United's introductory football program for our youngest players. Built around age-appropriate development and the joy of play, every session gives children the space to explore, move, and build confidence at their own pace. Our coaches work to age-specific frameworks, so whether your child is picking up a ball for the first time or already a Squirts regular, they will be challenged and supported in the right way.
Explorers (U3) - Ball familiarity, body awareness, and the joy of movement. Every session is play-first, with activities designed to build coordination and confidence without any pressure.
Movers (U4) - Developing deliberate ball control, early decision-making, and the beginnings of teamwork. Players at this level grow fast, and our sessions keep pace with them.
Little Reds (U5) - Increasing game sense, stronger technical foundations, and small-sided play. This group bridges directly into MiniRoos Ready when players are ready.
MiniRoos Ready (U5, U6, U7)
MiniRoos Ready is for players who are ready to step into competitive 5-a-side football in 2027. Whether your child is a Little Reds graduate, an existing U6 or U7 player looking for extra development, or coming to VUFC for the first time - this program is built to get them ready.
2027 MiniRoos season registrations open in October. MiniRoos Ready runs Term 4 and Term 1 only, specifically timed to build players up heading into the season. Players who complete the program will know their teammates, understand the format, and step into Round 1 with confidence.
Key focus areas: ball mastery under pressure, small-sided game understanding, basic defending, accurate striking, and playing as part of a team.
