Virginia United is running an internal process this off-season to identify community and ASP players who may be ready to step into the Football Queensland Academy pathway for 2027.

Rather than an open trial, we're using a smarter internal approach that gives our players a genuine look without the pressure of a mass trial format. For our junior age groups, this means internal assessment games plus video review, run by our own coaching staff.

For our youth age groups, our staff will attend games across the back end of the season and record footage where possible, alongside ongoing coach observation.

This page is open to current Virginia United community and ASP players across all FQA-eligible age groups, boys and girls. Register your interest below before the end of the regular season and our coaching staff will be in touch with next steps.

FQA training typically runs two nights a week plus regular carnivals and representative events, alongside your normal club team rather than instead of it. Current FQA fees sit around $2,349 for the season on top of club registration, and we are expected to increase these fees for 2027. Selection reflects Football Queensland's own long-term talent identification process rather than a single decision, and every player who puts their hand up remains on our radar for future opportunities.

If you have questions, reach out and we'll point you in the right direction.

Virginia United Football Club would like to thank McDonald's® Virginia and Nudgee for their sponsorship.
